Spring 2009: Trans. Design Grad Show

The Action Never stops

There will be somedays where ill wake up, have a specific agenda and stick to a schedule, but yesterday was pretty crazy. My day started off by heading over to school to sell Anthony Sims some pencil sharpners. Hanging out in the Transportation Design studio, we get bombarded by a bunch of people decked out in flight attendant gear. Turns out they were a bunch of designers from Brazil, visiting California for some kind of design/race challenge in Fontana. So Franco drops knowledge and burgeezie looks creepy….then i get creepy cause 1 of the brazillian design students…is very attractive.

After that episode, decided to hang out with the homie Cioffi next door in the lazer lab while i wait for the others so we can go eat. He drops knowledge, iroc knowledge and work ethic out the window, you’ll know what i mean in this clip

Continuing the day, I join Andy Uhm, Ki Bae & his lovely girlfriend and roger. Cold Noodles and Galbi was on point and delicious.




Randomly, i ran into the homeslice Kev-Nish and the homie Prohgress at the restaurant, two very talented dudes that make 2/3 of FM or Far East Movement. They got a banger single on the radio called “Girls on the Dance Floor.” They’re in the process of getting signed to a major label. A more indepth interview with the group coming soon, but much props.

Later on that evening i get a phone call from my cousin who’s visiting from Seattle. Turns out he’s never really partied in LA, so i take him to the usual jump offs, then over to one of my model’s parties @ Level 3. The homegirl Christine Mendoza and her friends have a pastie show @ the club. Ridiculously interesting and wild. Some appearances from Quest Crew and Ben Baller, DJ Myster-E and along with the other models in the import car scene. The video footage is the truth.

Heart/mind check #1

Let me take this time to do a lil bit of reflecting…..i know i know ..i said it earlier this year …”more pictures, less word” but this is my time and space to share things that are real dear to me, so imma share that with you guys that will actually take time and read this.

First off, my design career has been quiet a journey. I started ACCD back in 2004 with pure intentions of doing nothing, but car design and car design only. I probably was one of those passionate kids, but with a bigger heart. I say bigger heart because as time is passing ive realized that im actually happier each and every year. It’s not the money, nor the people im meeting, but more so the process of helping more and ive come to realize that i really enjoy helping people unconditionally.

In helping people ive managed to meet the most amazing artists, designers, music producers, music video directors, gorgeous models and hilarious comedians. Most of them become aquantances, but majority of them have a special place in my heart. And those are the ones that are REAL.

Will i do car design for the rest of my life? Maybe? kinda hard to tell because life is definitely full of abundance and wealth that there so much to see. And when i mean wealth, im not just talking in the financial sense, but the experimental end of everything…..but with all the sketching ive been doing, im really into my sketching ability and my philosophy/thinking behind my projects.

Ive came to a conclusion that if my hearts in something i want to experience, imma do it because at the end of the experience the outcome is nothing but a big cheesy grin with dried up rice on my shirt because i devoured the experience and became satisfied.

Hearts been checked. And im happy
