Felt like Seattle Vibes this weekend

This week ive been kicking everything in high gear with productivity. I dont wanna show anything just yet….soon though. Most of you wondering if i do any work, but of course i do work. It’s just i like to balance my life. Whats the point of working hard 24/7 and not being able to relax, step back and appreciate your own labor. If a person cant appreciate there own labor then whats the use of working and living like a slave. Friday stayed in and did work, Sat went to my first Dodgers game…and the only reason why i wanted to go is cause i was with some good company and the Mariners were playing against the Dodgers. Seattle won by the way.





After pulling an all nighter after the Dodgers game (term off btw, why do i still pull all nighters?) Franco calls me sunday and tells me that Mr. Alex Kasoll is having a birthday BBQ and that it’ll be a good time. I can never turn down a BBQ in LA for some reason, maybe its because it reminds me of all the good times that me and my close friends back home in Seattle use to do. BBQ. Im sure everyone says that Q’s are always the same, but i really dont think so. BBQ’s have different ingrediants that make it a banger! Different cooking selection, choice of cooking utensils, selection of women or lack of selection, different types of alcohol, different personalities…..the list can go on. The birthday celebration for Alex and the BBQ is definitely something that’ll go down in the Artcenter College of Design memory book. Watch the video and you’ll see. I do have pictures, but pictures wouldnt do any justice to what took place last night. Oh by the way, Anthony. You owe me! Its always fun when the homies can have some.

I cant believe it. The legendary Michael Jackson has passed. Its crazy! Im a bit in disbelief on it because for those that know me or have seen me boogie on the dance floor, its all because of the man. I always go all out on the dance floor on any michael jackson song and get down hard! like super hard like im trying to perform for everyone in the world! Truely will be missed, but the music you’ve left us with and the inspiration uve given us wil always care on. Every entertainer that loved to dance in junction with music or anyone who just loved to dance always …always…imitated this man. You definitely shed light with your music and captivated the world when you left us today and thats why you are legendary.

Leather, on a bike, dirty mechanic, running with white pants that gets sweaty, truely amazing…….head to toe….perfection…God took his time when he made this woman. The movie was action overload….made me wanna rip my arm off and attach a cannon to it.

J Dilla. Jay $tay Paid

J.Dilla…..what can i say about the man. He’s every music producer’s favorite producer. Known for working with prince, Janet Jackson, Busta Rhymes, Common, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest and Pharcyde. He was a producer that made beats bang so hard that you didnt need an engineer to touch em up or master it. He had that special touch in creating and flipping/manipulating original beats to something unique and crazy where you would bug out. He also had off beats that sound wicked, but u vibed hard to it. J Dilla, althought his life was short lived (02.10.2006), has gone down in history and thats why today his work is highly celebrated more so than when he was here with us on earth. Google him, youtube him, read up on it.

Fast forward, 2009, his new album titled Jay $tay Paid released last week and i im proud to say that i took part in the album layout/imagery selection for his 12″ vinyl that will be releasing soon. The Artwork was done by world renowned Artist/illustrator/graphic guru to our generation, FATOE, along with Anthony Williams for the cd release, but below were two images I maniuplated in photoshop that were used in the cd release layout.


For the 12″ vinyl, i was fortunate and honored to work on the layout. I did majority of the photoshop work to the images and layed everything out in junction with Jon “mainframe” Ancheta, who was in charge of A&R direction of the album. The vibe that we were going for was more of a spirtual sense because we felt like it was right to do so……..in many ways he is godly and worshipped by many. The whole 12″ vinly release will come with a bumper sticker, loose fliers and vinyl labels. There isnt a date on when the 12″ is going to be released, but those that know wassup will cop it and ad it to there collection. Thanks to Jon Ancheta that put me on this project it was an honor and I knew how important this album release meant to you. Peep out the work.

A Milli…..in the streets.

Driving along, me, Chris, Jin and Richard spot a Bugatti Veyron parked on the side of the road on Green st. (between Raymond and Arroyo Parkway) First time seeing a veyron in person and proud to see one being driven, as it’s suppose to be.
