I recieved a phone call from my good friend Dean the other night asking if i wanted to go to THIS IS IT: MJ viewing with him and his wifey to be,Lyssa. I went. I couldn’t decline such a eventful night. The movie was being viewed at the new REGAL cinemas in downtown LA. The documentary is what i’d imagined and it definitely showed what the King of Pop was capable of. At the age of 50, he still got it. His voice; unbelieveable. His attention to detail on stage emphasized why he is the greatest entertainer that walked our planet. What was more enjoyable was the fact you saw MJ as a normal human being. A person who was gentle and kind, a man who’s heart was filled with love and greatness. MJ fans. A must see.

Posted in Uncategorized on October 24, 2009 by waffledesignsMidterm presentation for a bunch of us involved blood, sweat, tears and lack of sleep. The majority of us didnt sleep. Some were workin down to the wire before the 9am presentation, but majority of us had good work. The work speaks for yourself here at ArtCenter and if you’re not throwing down, you might as well work @ starbucks or go see if they’re hiring at subway, better yet maybe Chucky Cheese, at least there u can ride the lil coin operated car rides and reminisce about how it was being a student in the transportation design program. Anyways, heres some pictures.

Save myself for the end. Design is pretty savvy. I have a solid direction, but it may change in 3D. Stay tuned.
Seattle: Bakery Nouveau
Posted in Uncategorized on October 23, 2009 by waffledesignsFilled with goodies, filled with lil snacks. Thats what this place is. My sis Jaz took me to a lil whole in the wall spot in the heart of west seattle on california st. when i was up there this past weekend. Bakery Nouveau is known for their wonderful pastries, but they also have fresh crossaints, chocolate crossaints, lil chocolates that looked like lil shoes and lil baby hamburgers and flat bread pizzas. I highly recommend visiting this spot, if you’re ever in Seattle. Ahhh i miss Seattle.

Au revoir

Mobility 1 & 2: Week 6
Posted in Uncategorized on October 14, 2009 by waffledesignsFinalizing design is going to pop off soon. I am please though at the design direction. Looking forward to building this lil bugger. Im thinking of the name for the project. Ive been thinking….for bloggers, digital, pixellated movement…..pixey? Mr. Pixey? Don’t know quite yet. There is much more detail that needs to be added to complete the design (graphic pixels, taillight, headlight detail) but its looking promising. Week 7 here we go!!! Anyways, stay hungry, just like how Biggie said it. Here are some sketches for you visual satisfaction.

Mobility: Week 5 Sickness
Posted in Uncategorized on October 7, 2009 by waffledesignsSomething is definitely going around school. Swine flu or something, but last week i was bed riddin. Week 5 of 14 weks of designing has gone by and im pretty pleased at the direction it is going, however i think im onto something new this week. Imma nail the coffin shut on this mobility design project for sure. Here is some of the work. Please stay tuned. Also comments are welcomed, Im interested in what the public thinks.

This is a package drawing for those that aren’t car designers. It is a basic dimensional drawing of the L x W x H of the vehicle. As you can see, the under lay of the Suzuki Every is a vehicle that has a small footprint (the shadow of the vehicle from all four corners of the vehicle). Designing under these dimensions is required for by my instructors this term, but that doesnt bug me. I plan on doing a lamborghini or ferrari supercar next term just to fullfil my exotic design fantasy.

Exploration of design themes and structural functionality. Integrating both cargo utilization and sleeping quarters for the passengers as they make their tour around the islands of Japan.
Seattle shop: DELI
Posted in Uncategorized on September 29, 2009 by waffledesignsOn my last visit to Seattle I finally visited my friend, Max, who has been in business with his new boutique store DELI. The aesthetic of the store takes on an old school meat DELI from the city of Seattle. Max didnt skip a beat, displaying the product on classic fridgerators and meat displays. Majority of the clothing lines he carries are aimmed towards the grown and the sexy. The idea and concepting took place over a year ago and im glad he took my advice and really thought everything through. Big plans in the future with Max and I.
Aside from carrying an array of dope men’s/ladies’ wear, every first thursday of the new month he participates in the ARTWALK in Seattle’s pioneer square district. John Osgood, a local seattle artist, showed the week i was in seattle.
